KHAR: As many as 16 persons, including 3 levies personnel, have been killed while 26 others sustain injuries in a suicide blast near security forces check point in the market of Khar on Saturday.

Meanwhile, authorities have imposed curfew in the district.

“The suicide bomber, aged between 18 to 23 years, blew himself up near a security check point in Khar when levies personnel stopped him for screening purpose,” said area’s political administration.

The central market has been closed after the blast as security forces have cordoned off the area, while firing incidents were reported in the affected area.

The wounded have been shifted to district headquarter hospital where emergency was declared.

The severed head and leg have been recovered.
